We will welcome the inaugural class of the 7th and 8th graders to our school in September 2022. Our class will have 15 to 20 students in each year group.
Prospective students are encouraged to visit Hakuba and ideally join our holiday programme so they know what it is like to learn in Hakuba.
For admissions, we require academic records and references, and the students will be assessed by participating in the Pop-Up School, a mini-project workshop. For those who cannot attend the assessments in person, we will provide an online alternative.
For the 2022-2023 school year, the student's birth date should be:
April 2, 2009 to April 1, 2010 for the 7th grade
April 2, 2008 to April 1, 2009 for the 8th grade
If the student's birthdate is outside of the above and you are interested in enrolment next year, please consult with us.

Let’s build a school for the future.
HIS is committed to its core value of sustainability; therefore, we have a policy of reuse and repurpose where we can rather than building everything new. We plan to repurpose existing accommodation for our first boarding house.
HIS will open in 2022 without a permanent learning space. The inaugural class will have the privilege of designing it with us. This goes to the heart of our passion of empowering students and giving them a voice in their living and learning environment. Our ambition is to build a zero carbon learning space by 2024.
