Hakuba International School is at an important stage of its development, and we have significant plans for expanding and investing in our facilities, programs, and people.
Specific initiatives currently in development include our Zero Carbon Campus Campaign and an Alpine Research Lab. These transformational projects will help us meet the demands of our growing community, while providing new and exciting learning opportunities with leading educators and scientists in Japan and around the world.
Zero Carbon Campus Campaign
The Zero-Carbon Campus Campaign is Hakuba International School’s bold commitment to sustainability — building a campus that operates entirely on renewable energy and models environmental responsibility for the next generation. This initiative will fund innovative green technologies, energy-efficient design, and learning spaces that bring education to life. Your gift helps us turn vision into reality, creating a living example of how education and sustainability can power a better future together.
Alpine Research Lab Hakuba
The MITxTokyo U×HIS Collaboration brings together global research, local innovation, and student creativity to explore how people and the planet can thrive together. Through the Alpine Research Lab Hakuba, this partnership connects Hakuba International School with leading scientists, engineers, and designers from the City Science Group at the MIT Media Lab and the University of Tokyo Research Institute of Planetary Health to develop sustainable technologies and community-driven research. Your support helps transform Hakuba into a living laboratory for the future — where students learn by doing, ideas are tested in real environments, and new models for a flourishing, zero-carbon society take shape.
