Does Technology Make Me Happy?
In this project, students examined whether today’s tech-connected world is making us happier or more miserable. They explored questions about how technology shapes our relationships, asking whether it strengthens friendships and builds connection—or does the opposite.
Students investigated technology from multiple angles, including wearable trackers, social media algorithms, and video game systems, to understand how digital tools influence both physical and mental health. Through personal exploration and community engagement, they developed strategies to enhance well-being within the school community.
To inform their findings, students completed 7-day wellness challenges, analyzed TED Talks, and conducted well-being surveys to gather meaningful data and insights. Their work culminated in three final products: a personal and community well-being report, a group project on improving social well-being through technology, and a proposal for Hakuba International School’s new technology policy.
