Hakuba Forum 2026 Learning Festival — Open to Everyone!

Each year, Hakuba International School, in partnership with Elham Studio, brings together educators, school leaders, researchers, innovators, and change-makers from around the world for the Hakuba Forum - four days of dialogue, reflection, and exploration around the future of education and learning.

On the final afternoon of the Forum, we open the conversation to our wider community through the Hakuba Forum Learning Festival, a free public event bringing together inspiring voices from education, government, research, and beyond.

This year, we are honored to welcome Peter Senge of MIT, Nagano Governor Shuichi Abe, Dr. Kiyohiko Igarashi of the University of Tokyo, Dr. Helen Wright, Jill Jensen, and Russell Cailey.

Together, we will explore some of the most important questions facing education today: What is the role of a teacher in the age of AI? What should schools prepare young people for in a rapidly changing world? And who shapes a child's future as technology becomes increasingly powerful?

The Learning Festival is free and open to everyone, with English–Japanese interpretation provided. We warmly invite HIS families, educators, students, community members, and anyone curious about the future of learning to join us in Hakuba.
